5 Genius Ways to Make Money This Week (From Your Couch)

Even before the pandemic, there were ways for you to make money from home, but since 2020 opportunities have skyrocketed.

Here is a list of the best ways to earn some serious side cash this week, yes – without leaving your couch.

1. Playing speed bingo on my phone (Earning potential: up to £3,000/week)

Sounds nuts, obviously, but the idea of playing cash bingo as a side gig has been around for years, and can be surprisingly lucrative (if you’re good enough, anyway).

The whole thing revolves around Bingo Cash (a free iPhone game).

The game itself is really simple: You play speed rounds of bingo head-to-head against another real person. Whoever solves their card the fastest wins real cash.

If you can get good at the game, it can be surprisingly lucrative: typically up to £80/game for the winner. Each game takes ~2 minutes, in my experience.

2. Build a game-testing empire (for up to £120/test)

Apps like Freecash will pay you to test new iOS/Android games on your phone.

Some games pay as much as $350 to testers. Here are a few examples right now (from Freecash‘s homepage):

You don’t need any kind of degree or any prior experience: all you really need is a smartphone (Android or IOS).

If you’re scrolling on your phone anyway, why not get paid for it?

I’ve used Freecash in the past – it’s solid. They also gave me a $5 bonus instantly when I installed my first game, which was nice.

3. Playing solitaire for cash (for up to £3k/week)

If you get a minute, take a look at Solitaire Cash – it’s kind of like the bingo game I mentioned above, but with speed solitaire instead (perfect if you’re not that into bingo).

You play against a real opponent, and the winner of the game wins a real cash prize.

Check out the leaderboards sometime to see how much the pros are making (it’s absurd – sometimes £3k-£4k/week).

4. Get solar panels installed (save up to £1,400/year)

It’s a common misconception that in the UK it isn’t sunny enough to have solar panels (we can understand why most people would assume that).

But, the truth is the UK is more than sunny enough to not only have solar panels, but for them to generate power all throughout the year.

In fact, some people report saving up to 70% on their electricity bills after switching to solar energy.

Yes, solar panels come with an additional cost, but they should last you 25 years, (at least). So even if it takes 10 years to pay them off, that’s 15 years of solar energy and massive savings on your energy bill.

5. Get paid for your screentime (Earning potential: up to £120/year)

Very few people know about it, but Ipsos will actually pay you for the time you spend on your phone, tablet and PC.

You’re effectively part of a mini-research study (it’s called their “Ipsos iris Panel”): you just install an app on your devices that will give Ipsos anonymous data on how you use the internet.

Monthly you earn points for the time you spend in the program, and when you’re ready, you can redeem them for all sorts of vouchers, merch, etc.

Not everybody qualifies for it (apply here), but if you do, it’s a sweet gig.
